Covid-19 Update SALES AREA RE-OPENING 25/05/20

At HCGC we want what is best for our community to thrive and flourish. That is why during this pandemic we have been taking extreme measures to ensure the safety of our staff and our customers. We launched a new and improved doorstep delivery service which has allowed us to still serve the community whilst keeping everybody safe.

With the advice that has come out from the Government over the last week we will be re-opening our sales area. We will be operating under strict social distancing measures to ensure everybody's safety and our gardens (except for a small easily accessible area), seating areas and meeting rooms will remain closed until it is safe for us to open them again. We hope we will be able to welcome you all back as soon as possible but we have to all take care during this time. The team feel a huge responsibility for all and that is why we will not act until we can be sure it truly is the right thing to do. We are still providing our doorstop deliveries for everyone especially those who do not feel comfortable coming to the centre. We are also still operating our Phone order and Collect service which saves you time and maintains a higher level of safety for all.

We would like to thank you all for your patience during this time and we hope you understand why we have done what we have done.

Take care and Stay safe.

Plant Sales

Our garden centre is full of everything you need to have a healthy, productive, and beautiful garden. Our stock ranges from trees to tiny alpines, a huge range of edible and fruit bearing plants, willowy grasses and colourful annuals. We only sell organic fertilisers and composts, and grow as much as we can ourselves to ensure our plants are chemical free.

Gardening should be as beneficial for wildlife as it can be for us, and we always aim to carry plants that will help provide food and shelter for birds and insects. Apart from all the usual horticultural sundries, in our shop you will also find unique cards, gifts and crafts made by local artists and our volunteers.

Gifts

We have a wide range of independent, locally produced gifts available.  If you are looking for something unusual for a birthday, anniversary, Christmas or a special gift our range has something for everyone.

Consultations

If you are new to gardening or unsure what plants would suit the space you have we can arrange a visit to your home.  As part of the visit we will advise you on what plants will suit your garden conditions and your requirements for your use of the garden.  We can also assist with a design and suggested planting list using our in-house horticultural experts.

Family visits

Although we are currently closed due to the situation around the world, we would love to see you all as soon as it is safe to do so.

If you are looking for somewhere outdoors to spend time with your children our extensive community gardens offer a confined green space for them to explore and discover more about nature.

Cafe - Closed

Because we are closed do the public the cafe is also closed.

However with our future, exciting, expansion plans we are making sure that the cafe will have new, warm and comfortable seating areas for all to enjoy.

Cafe Oooh La La serves a range of tea, coffee and cakes as well as hot and cold meals including many gluten-free and vegan options.

We also cater for the big events at the garden centre, and are available for bookings of all sizes.
